How do I become a group member at OTB?
There are multiple steps involved in obtaining services through Outside the Box. We’ve broken down the process for you below to make this as easy as possible for you and your family.
Schedule Your Visit
The very first step is scheduling your visit with Bri Booram at email@example.com. Please include your availability and what services you are interested in.
Before the Visit
Ask someone close to you, such as a team member, who understands your history and needs to join you on your visit.
Please arrive to your appointment on time.
You will receive a tour and overview of our program.
You will be asked some questions so that we can get to know you better. It is very important to answer these questions honestly so we can best determine where you might fit in best at OTB.
You will have the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have about OTB.
What Happens If You Are Placed In A Group
We will schedule a visit with your group.
You will get a good feel for the group and also give the group and staff participants a chance to meet you.
Please plan on visiting with the group for 2-3 hours.
It is important that someone on your team is readily available during your visit in case any issues arise.
Don’t forget to bring your lunch!
After the visit, the Associate Director will meet with the group and staff participants to get feedback on the visit and make a decision regarding placement.
If everyone agrees that you are a good fit, you will be contacted and offered a spot in the group or groups. Now the decision is up to you!
If the visit did not go well, OTB will need to reevaluate your needs.
What Happens If You Are On Our Waiting List
You will be contacted when something opens up that is a good fit for you!
You are encouraged to check back on a regular basis if you are on our waiting list.
When You Make the Decision to Join OTB
Once we receive notice that you want to be part of our program, the official intake process can start. Below are the steps that have to be completed before you can start:
- Complete and return all intake paperwork to the Coordinator of System Operations.
- Determine and finalize funding source and/or payment arrangement
- OTB staff needs to receive documented training on your plan and individual needs.
This could include training on behavior plans and high risk plans
All of the above steps must be completed before you can start.
