Outside the Box has a committed and talented Board of Directors. Each one of our Board members brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our organization, we rely on the Board to make important decisions that will allow us to reach our vision and maintain sustainable business practices.


Barb Fleming
President of the Board of Directors

As a well known local business leader and philanthropist, Barb is the owner of BAF Corporation a company that specializes in commercial, interior finishes specifically in health care. Further her experience as past President of Impact 100, and current Board Member for an alternative service model called, Villages of Merici, strengthens her leadership profile. Barb also is the proud grandmother of a young lady with Williams Syndrome.

Dick Rhoad
Vice President of the Board of Directors

Most recently, Dick served as the Executive Director and CEO of Wabash Center in Lafayette, one of the largest, multiservice agencies in the state.  Previously, Dick was the Chief Financial Officer for Indiana’s Family & Social Services Agency, which is the funding program where our Medicaid and State dollars come from for services

Valerie Brennan

As a Principal with a large Accounting firm, her knowledge as a CPA and entrepreneur bring to our organization a keen sense of fiscal responsibility and sustainability.  Her areas of expertise include developing financial planning strategies.

Jennifer Lange

As the Human Resources Business Partner for Old National Bank, she brings a unique perspective to our Board to support our issues around employing people, not only as staff for the Evolve project – but can advise us on the legalities an liability involved with hiring people with various abilities to work in the café’ and the event space.  She has nearly 20 years of HR experience.

Kelly Hartman
Cofounder & Emeritus Director

As the CEO of Insights Consulting and Cofounder of Outside the Box, her reputation as an innovative visionary and professional mentor is important in our ongoing organizational development.  Her leadership in the state and membership on the Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services supports our ongoing education in both local, state and federal initiatives specific to our industry.

Andi Cohen

As an attorney, small business owner and professional caterer, Andi has multifaceted experiences that help us evolve this business model.  Her extensive involvement in philanthropic activity, including Board experience, are of great resource to us.

Marty Post

With more than 20 years of successful experience in sales and management in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology-related products and services, Marty brings a unique perspective, especially as a long term donor and supporter of Outside the Box.


Jennifer Simon

As a lifetime philanthropist, Jennifer has a unique ability to help us navigate the existing relationships and new partnerships necessary to attract grants and other in-kind supports necessary to sustain our current operation while carefully considering the landscape of program expansion.  Her years of experience serving on Boards of local charitable organizations is invaluable to us.  She also has personal experience with a family member as a staunch advocate for people with special needs.

Rhon Tranberg

For the past 30 years, Rhon has worked with BI Worldwide in the inspiration and performance industry helping Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 clients to drive engagement, motivation, and business results. He has been in involved in the implementation of solutions within the employee, sales channel and consumer space, working with Global clients, crossing many vertical markets.  Certified in Applied Behavior Economics, he partners with associates and clients to understand the gaps between current performance and desired outcomes – an amazing asset as we seek to evolve our operations.
